THE TUNNEL ACROSS THE FEHMARNBELT
This interesting and challenging project has now started and we are happy to be a part of it and post our first news.
Femern A/S is the client for the Fehmarnbelt tunnel, which is being undertaken by the two main contractors, Fehmarn Belt Contractors (FBC) and Femern Link Contractors (FLC). T
We have so far performed works for FBC such as: anchor handling and IWS (In Water Survey). The client is satisfied and we continue!

FMS and Frog Cygnus perform hull cleaning on SCA OBBALA.
Increased fuel consumption of a vessel can often be due to the hull being overgrown. One quick and effective method to remove this is to clean with the help of high pressure water and ROV.The cleaning can normally be carried out at the quay during the ship’s loading and unloading. The marine fouling is removed without damaging the hull color. Furthermore, with planned cleaning intervals, environmentally friendly ship paint can be used.

At December 28:th, Frog Marine Service was contracted to locate and seal of a hole in a water ballast tank on a crude oil tanker, anchored on Danafjord,
outside Gothenburg. FMS hade to install a cofferdam over the 40 mm big hole to allow for welders from Scanunit to work from the inside.

FMS has, while using Frog Taurus, Frog Rana and workboats, been responsible for towing and installation of river channelisation for wires to the new Marieholms bridge.
FMS contributes to boosting relations over the river and thus ease the flow of traffic in western Sweden.

FMS has successfully salvaged an old motor fishing vessel from 1950 that has been sunk for about two years at the Juno quay in Uddevalla. The clients were Kronofogden and Uddevalla kommun. The ship was 22.5 x 6.5 meters with a draft of 3.5 meters. The ship weighed 135 tons after we pumped out the water and sludge sucked. We rented Mobile cranes from Havator.

12 kilometres of LPS and water pipeline is to be laid between Pålnäsviken and Älgö at Saltsjöbaden in Sweden. The excavated material at the abutment is polluted which means thatknowledge of how to handle hazardous material will come in handy. Apart from this the challengelies in weighting and laying the pipeline from the ice. The project is expected to be completed in May 2011.

Manufacturing of pollarfundament and demolition of the concrete ramp in progress. Concrete ramp (500m2) will be removed and 70 concrete piles cut at the bottom. In total there are about 1,000 tons of concrete to be demolished and no material gets into the water. Ship Tempering continues as usual.
